Funnily, I’m known as Mrs Beaconsfield around the office, given I’ve sold so much property along the beachfront. My real nickname’s actually ‘Ruby’. It’s not just the beachfront, though. I’ve sold throughout the area – houses, apartments, land, even a church – in the 30-odd years I’ve been in the industry. Above all, I think the key thing I've loved about my time in the industry simply comes down to matching people with the right homes.

One of my favourite parts of what I do is meeting the children of past clients, which is always nice, as I have 16 (about to be 17) grandchildren myself and family is really important to me. I’ve always felt like part of St Kilda. The beauty of it is you’re meeting different people all the time, which is always stimulating, mentally. It’s just a really diverse and interesting population here. Cafe-wise, I love sittting outside Rococco and watching the world go by – don’t worry, they know me. It’s like visiting family. The other part of the area I love the most is Blessington Gardens.
